Appointments

What to expect from your appointment

Initial consultation:

Your first Consultation will last around 45 minutes. This is either face to face or via a video link.  I’ll talk through your symptoms and discuss their impact on your life. I then discuss what I feel is the right treatment for you.

Medication can be prescribed on a private prescription or I can email your NHS GP with treatment recommendations. If you need more time to think about your options, that’s fine – you have 8 weeks to get back to me.

Within the next week

I write to confirm all that we discussed together: your symptoms, appointments and treatment plan. This will also be emailed to your GP with your consent.

Query email

Worried about an aspect of your treatment? Feel that the dose is not right for you? I offer one free query email within the first 8 weeks. This is suitable for dose adjustments and quick queries only- it may safer for me to see you again if there is something complex to discuss.

Three months later

I offer a follow-up appointment three months after your initial consultation (for a further charge). At this point I can check that I have found the right type and dose of treatment for you or make any adjustments that you need.

Six to twelve months later

Your treatment needs and hormone requirements may continue to change during your life. Most women choose to come back for an annual review. If you are prescribed testosterone you will also need to organise annual blood tests. I can see you sooner than that if needed.
