For GP’s

Information for GPs

Time to Pause practices evidence-based medicine in line with NICE and The British Menopause Society guidance. I also refer to the RCOG green-top guidelines and those from FSRH.

Patients can just book an appointment with me – there is no need for a referral letter. As a practicing GP I am aware of the pressures you face and my role is not to increase your workload but to enhance women’s medical care and wellbeing and even reduce the pressure on primary care. Communication is key and my patients are asked for consent to share information to you.

I will initiate medication and do initial follow up but once a woman is stable, and if they wish, I may hand back care and prescribing to you.

I have put a link for the British Menopause Society Tools for clinician’s web page below. It has an array of useful information from breast cancer risk to HRT doses and endometrial protection.

However, if there is anything you are unsure about, please feel free to contact me.
